Lots going on over here at HQ. Haha, I've always wanted to say that, not quite sure what my studio would be the HQ of though. HQ of my creative mind? Although technically that's my brain surely? I think I'm working too hard!
If you scroll down a bit you'll see my rough for this image, I thought it might be interesting to see my process. My roughs actually look very much like the final piece!
I've been commissioned to do a regular illustration for the Viewpoint column by the lovely folks over at Top Sante. Here's the first one. It's so nice to get a chance to play with my lettering and make that a central feature.
I hope all of my UK-based followers are enjoying their extended holidays! The little pink guy above is my latest character, his story is currently under development (as in, when I have time and when I've finished working on my Frank book!).
Okay so this is a rough and not a finished drawing at all, but I just wanted to share it with you! Today I've been working on the rough for my Frank book and forcing myself to wait before sending it out. Sometimes I just get a little bit too impatient!
I hope you all have nice plans for the weekend. I'm currently working on a couple of exciting new projects, none of which I can post here at the moment! So instead here's a scene from one of my own books-in-progress about a fox who wants to be a journalist. This one has been sitting on the shelf recently as I've become engrossed with my Ettie story, whenever I have a spare second that is! More Ettie stuff coming soon...
So, this one is progressing fairly well and I'm still quite excited by it (always a good sign). Now if only I could find the time to finish it! Wondering who to send it to first...
Not 100% what the inspiration is behind this one, possibly some residues of guilt I'm harbouring over my hard work this week. Lots of hours at my desk = less walkies time for a certain canine companion of mine...
