I was sitting at my desk pondering this week's Illustration Friday topic of 'Surprise' and trying to find an approach that wouldn't involve a present or someone wearing a party hat. I started thinking about nice surprises and not-so-nice surprises until I came to this image. I guess pregnancy could potentially be the biggest surprise somebody might ever face...

ReplyDeleteI was so surprised by my last pregnancy (the 4th one at the age of 44 nine years after my previous child) that I woke up every morning at four or five and had to walk the dog because I couldn't get back to sleep with shock of it! So your great illustration really resonates for me.
